Villa Melati is a well-constructed 540 sqm gorgeous dream home on an approximately 1,000 sqm land. Set amidst the fabulous rice fields, Villa Melati is only 20 minutes drive from The Ngurah Rai International Airport, 10 minutes to the various range of Seminyak's vigorous shops and restaurants, and only 5 minutes to the famous Petitenget sunset beach.

Designed and built by a British architect for his own use, and furnished and decorated by his wife, herself a dealer in Indonesian antiques, the Villa’s style is a synthesis of traditional Balinese architecture, replete with thatched roof, and fittings and amenities of a contemporary nature. Located on the slope of the valley facing west, Villa Melati features a beautiful landscaped garden, with an abundance of tropical plants. The approach to the house is down a spectacular flight of stone steps. For the return climb a unique private rack-and-pinion lift-way that carries four people is always available when the steps are daunting. A bridge over cascading pools leads to the main house, and beyond, to the inner garden and infinity swimming pool, daringly set on the edge of the property, overlooking the valley. The pool, its spacious terraces, and the small lookout pavilion offer breathtaking views of the river, the rice terraces, and the distant volcanoes.

There are two spacious master bedrooms with king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms and walk-in closets. A genuine antique rice barn has been erected beside the house and modified into a third bedroom, and a loft above one of the living areas provides further sleeping space for two more persons. The dining room is separated from the fully-equipped kitchen by a service bar, and another open-sided pavilion is located adjacent to the pool for casual outdoor living.
